Fellow Rotarians,

Many New York Rotarians attended Joe Sullivan’s funeral on Wednesday August 7th at 10:00 AM at St Agnes Catholic Church in New York. It was a beautiful ceremony and a heartfelt farewell to a great New York Rotarian. Joe was always willing to help, even on his 85th birthday, when the Sisters of Fraternite Notre Dame asked him to help out in the soup kitchen, while preparing his surprise birthday party. You can find Joe’s obituary in the Bulletin.

The speaker at our next meeting on August 13th will be Beth Gilinsky, who is the founder of the Jewish Action Alliance, the nation’s leading grassroots Jewish civil and human rights program. You can read more about Beth Gilinsky in the Bulletin at www.newyorkcityrotary.org/Bulletin/bulletin081302.pdf.

Dave Gibbs, wrote the Reporter of the Week in the Bulletin about the last meeting’s great program.

The Bulletin tells us that the Board of Directors approved Anders Eggen and Ivan Vosloo as new members. Anders’ classification is Invest. Mgmt. – Analysis and Ivan’s classification is South African Consul. – Political. Welcome both of you to our great club!

You can also read in the Bulletin about “BICYCLE RIDE 4 THE CURE” for Children’s Leukemia Foundation. It starts in Central Park on August 25th and they will finish their ride in San Francisco on December 7th.

Don’t forget to reserve your table for our next meeting. You can do so via e-mail to our office at ny.rotary@verizon.net, or call Andreas or Ana at 212-633-1311. You can also fax in the RSVP form, which you can download at www.newyorkcityrotary.org/Bulletin/rsvp081302.pdf. Our fax number is 212-633-1954. Princeton Club’s culinary staff will serve us Salmon.

Don’t forget to pay the annual dues and luncheon payments for the first half of our fiscal year 2002-2003.

I recommend that you visit our New York Rotary website every week at www.NewYorkCityRotary.org.

I want to thank our Executive Director Andreas Runggatscher and his Executive Assistant Ana Rivas for working so hard every week creating and mailing the Weekly Bulletin. In addition to mailing it out to our members, they also send me the electronic Bulletin so I can upload it on our website. They are also working very hard with the administration of the World Trade Center - Disaster Relief Fund.
